Deeply emotional and enlightening 😀
The cover was what did it…..I wanted to see what this cover held between its pages; and then it was the synopsis, after all, it was about the strength of a woman.
There were points where I got extremely upset and points where joy was bright, but throughout it’s entirety, this book was indeed very captivating.
What stood out most for me was the culture. Being from the Western Hemisphere, there are certain acceptable things and as a result, this culture was indeed a shock. I cannot imagine the strength a woman must have to withstand being married against her will to someone she doesn’t know and to live with and bare the child of a man she has never met before. It is beyond my comprehension; and yet…there are women who live within this system and are strong. Hats off to them. I could not have done it myself.
The author outdid herself bringing a very sensitive issue to light and it must have taken strength to be able to do that. Awesome job Aisha. Though I was angry at bits of it, the storyline and characters were truly well written and creative and was a clear eye opener.
Thanks for this…..as a reminder of our strength as the fairer sex.
A really good read, once you get over wanting to kill somebody 😬😁😂
